Fall brings new rhythms, new routines, and a whole new set of challenges as kids get back into the groove of school. It’s essential we are prepared to meet the home- and school-based needs of youth during this time, especially those with special needs.
Fall brings new rhythms, new routines, and a whole new set of challenges as kids get back into the groove of school. It’s essential we are prepared to meet the home- and school-based needs of youth during this time, especially those with special needs.
Through case studies and examples — we will deconstruct the domains of educational parenting. You will learn strategies that you can use to :
- Build Relationships and connect with kids to deepen your bond
- Develop Empathy and show sensitivity to abuse and neglect and how to help a child gain comfort regardless of their experience
- Set Developmentally Appropriate Expectations by establishing household routines that set a high but attainable bar
- Encourage Social and Emotional Development by helping kids build community and self-advocate
This course will focus on infusing academic and social skills that work in both the school and the home.
